Snow!

When i woke up Sunday morning at 3:00 it was because my arm had gone to sleep. When after a few minutes i could not get back to sleep, i thought i would get up and go to the bathroom. On my way to the bathroom i figured i would take a peek outside. I had heard snow was in the forecast as it had been many times before. Many times i had been disappointed when the snow either didn't come at all or it wasn't enough to accumalate. Still there is this kid within me that keeps hoping.
So as i pulled the curtain back i wasn't expecting much but i was hoping just maybe...what i saw amazed me...snow! And this wasn't just a dusting. We are talking lots and lots of white! Even at this dark hour the world seemed to be a brighter place. It was like Christmas all over again as i ran from room to room looking out each window and when i returned to the bed i thought i was going to pop! As i was crawling under the covers Jeremy woke up and i told him he should look out the window. So he did and though he wasn't quite as excited as i, i do believe he was impressed.
Somehow he managed to get back to sleep but i just couldn't. For two and half hours i listened and waited between trips back and forth to the window to watch the beautiful white landscape.
The first person to wake up was Sawyer. He woke up to find me standing at his window. Since the curtains were still drawn he could not see what i was looking at. So as soon as he spoke i picked him up out of bed and took him to the window. He was in mid-sentence when i pulled the curtain back and he gasped. Eyes wide, he leaned toward the window and started talking excitedly about the snow covered view.
Soon everyone else started waking up and as they did Sawyer and i would immediately draw their attention to the nearest window. There were five children running through the house that morning: Rachel, Brogan, Reece, Sawyer and me.
I tried to get as many pictures as i could but we had to get ready for church and the neighbor's wooly booger dog was making me nervous as she ran circles around me on the ice. So i snapped what i could and headed back into the house. I am so thankful to have these because by the time we got back home from church it had melted. Four inches of snow, gone within a matter of hours!
Oh well, it was beautiful while it lasted. And now i am ready for spring!
