Introducing...Fritz!!

Here at Front Porch Academy, we believe every school should have a mascot. Since deciding on a name for our home based educational institution the kids and i have pondered the question of who or what would make a worthy mascot for our humble establishment. This is not something we have taken lightly. The job of mascot is to generate excitement and enthusiasm while maintaining an image that represents the ideals and beliefs of the school, it's students and faculty. At least, that is the way we see it. In our quest to find the "right one", we have considered the turtle(too slow),the honeybee(too fast) and the rooster(too loud). Even though the search was tiresome and seemingly unproductive, we believed all along that God would provide us with the "perfect" mascot in time. Well, the time must have been just right this past Saturday because we now have our mascot. It is without further ado i introduce you to Fritz! As of Saturday, Fritz is the newest addition to our happy family and since Jeremy shaved Tuesday, Fritz is also the furriest. He is one quarter Silkie, one quarter Westie and half Schnauser-or something like that anyway. In his first week, Fritz has patiently sat through photo ops, overcome his fear of Pete(our yellow Lab) and listened in class-his cage is in our classroom. The only time he makes a peep is when he needs to use the restroom. Because he has shown great patience, perserverance and willingness to learn, we believe Fritz is an excellent choice for Front Porch Academy mascot. What do you think?

He is tooo cute and I think he is the perfect mascot with the most desirable qualities a teacher could ask for! Does he have a brother?!

That is one intensely cute puppy, and believe you me, I know cute. As a great fan of Korean cuteness stuff, i.e. HelloKitty etc, he beats out anything I have seen! Even baby pigs! Wow! My question is: why are his feet on the ground!? Why is he not being carried everywhere he goes by his doting family! That puppy's feet should never have a callous and his head should never not have kisses all over it, even when he chews up homework, because he only chewed it up because he was sposed to. Fritzles do that! >_<

Thanks everyone and i think Fritz thanks you too. There is still a bit of a langauge barrier but being the sweet well, mannered dog that he is i am sure he would want to say thank you! Kathy, tell Chase he is more than welcome to come see Fritz in person sometime. Fritz does have brothers and a sister, too. Unfortunately, they have all gone to other homes. Two of them traveled as far as Minnesota! Thanks again, everyone...and stay tuned! Love, charis

Jason, You ask a very good question. The answer is this: Fritz also has a very independent spirit and cannot be held long before squirming out of the arms of anyone who tries to hold him. There is just too much to see around here and Fritz, being the mighty adventurer he is, must be allowed to explore to his heart's content. If Pete is anywhere around, Fritz is chasing his tail and he loves to nibble on toes and shoelaces-boundless energy, let me tell you! Most cuddling ocurrs at night, when Fritz is tired and winding down. Then he likes being held. There is never a shortage of eager arms to embrace that privilidge!
